Project Re Energize
I have just completed the
Project Re Energize training program.
For those who have not heard, Project
Re Energize is part of the stimulus package and is directed at
creating jobs and improving energy efficient. It is a CASH REBATE of up to $4000 per homeowner for window
replacement and insulation. This complements the existing
1500$/30% federal tax credit. This program has limited funding and is
in a first come first served basis. It is only available through
certified contractors (like myself).
Here are the details-250$ rebate
PER WINDOW for window replacement with Energy Star certified windows
up to 2500$ per homeowner. If you add advanced air sealing through a
certified insulation contractor the amount goes up to $300 per
window, plus $800 towards air sealing, $800 for attic insulation,
$800 for wall insulation and a possible $750 towards replacing your
hot water heater. That means up to $4000 per homeowner on qualified
projects. Keep in mind, these are already value added home
improvements because they will pay for themselves in energy savings.
But adding a CASH REBATE makes these extremely attractive.
Homes must be 3000 sf or under and
constructed prior to 2000. Detached, single family, owner occupied
homes only.
In my opinion, this program is under
funded, contracts must be signed and submitted starting on October
1st. That is coming up very quick. This is a super deal
and it's first come, first served so if you are interested in window
replacement an/or insulation contact me right away so we can put an
estimate together and submit a contract on the 1st.
