Renovation of a bahtroom in NE Minneapolis. We tore out a bath from a 1960's house flip and re did the room in a vintage turn of the century style. We custom built this medicine cabinet and installed a custom made floor tile border from Clay Squared to Infinity.

This home in Woodbury had a bizarre cramped 1980's bathroom. The adjoining master bedroom lacked a closet and much of the existing bath was taken up by shelving and storage cabinets. Our solution to the problem was to build a bump out to enable us to build a set of wardrobe cabinets. This freed up floor space to re organize the bathroom in a more useable and spacious manner. We custom built all the cabinetry. The floor and wall tile is travertine. The shower enclosure was custom fabricated by a local glass shop.

St. Paul Bathroom

Highland Park Bathroom

Highland park bathroom

This project was in a 1950's rambler in Highland Park, St. Paul. The layout of the bathroom was poor and a big portion of a footprint taken up by a linen closet and laundry chute. We tore out the closet and re built the laundry chute to fit inside the wall cavity. The fixtures were all moved to one wall to open up the floor plan. The customer chose a tile pattern with a unique twist and we maximized the small space with lots of cabinetry.

Bungalow Bathroom

I could not take very good photos of this bathroom because it is very small. We pulled out a lot of tricks to maximize the space in this small South Minneapolis bathroom. The floor plan was rearranged and we had a custom vanity fabricated to fit in a more narrow space than usual and still mean code. We also had an in wall cabinet and medicine cabinet built by a cabinetmaker to create additional storage space. Granite was custom fabricated for the counter top. We tried to blend traditional bungalow style with a modern look in the tile work.

Cottage Bathroom

Cottage Bathroom

Here's a bathroom in an 1920's co-op in Uptown. The customer wanted a country cottage style bathroom. We saved the original floor tile and tub, and demolished the rest of the room. The plumbing and electrical we all upgraded, a fan and lighting added and the walls properly insulated. The window was replaced and then tile, drywall and the wood wainscot installed. We built the radiator cover on the right side as well.

A very typical job for me is a small bathroom in a Longfellow Bungalow. Typically it's in the period bungalow style with white subway tile, honeycomb floor tile, and some wall sconces on either side of a wood medicine cabinet and pedastal sink. This customer saw a bathroom I did for a neighbor, and wanted a more modernist take on the traditional bungalow bathroom. The tile and cabinetry pays homage to the traditional Bungalow Style, but the over all feel is crisp, clean, stripped down and modern. This bathroom was tiny, and quite a challenge to complete while meeting modern plumbing codes.
